This is a sample of a site spec that I would use when giving my developers work. You would edit or add between these brackets <TEXT HERE>

Site Map – to show all the pages in list form to the public
Contact Page – with your site administrator contact details
Directory – For relevant links from your site to others
Forum / chat room style – To generate stick ability, build a database
Photo album - To generate stick ability, build a database
Shopping Cart – Generate revenue and build a database
Other pages
sitemap.xml – for search engine spiders to read
robots.txt file – for robots to follow
Product pages – with feeds on from affiliate networks that are searchable by:
Sport
Male / Female / Kids
Brand Name
Category (trousers, tops, jackets, shoes ……)
Interactive Features:
User login / registration for parts of the site (forum, shop, discount club)
Mailing list (MUST HAVE opt in for 3 rd party mailings)

Specific requirements:
VERY IMPORTANT - Dreamweaver template required for me to add my own content and make any small alterations myself to navigation bars, logos, and so that I can turn features off and on.
- Flat url design. All pages – including forum pages and shop pages should be flat urls that is, not have & or ? in the url’s. They should be spider friendly.
- Within the template the meta tags, alt tags, title tags on all images and links and centre content on every page should be editable, so that I can enter relevant keywords on each page as I build it.
- Accessibility feature
- If hosting is supplied, hosting should be verified as UK hosting for UK sites.
