How to store downloads

So you are using messenger, and someone sends you a document or picture. When you click on it a box pops up saying Open file to current location or save to file.

The best way to deal with this is to go into my documents and add some folders. You may already have My Music, My Pictures and My Ebooks set up, but you may want to set up a folder just for downloads. When you get the pop up box appear follow the instructions below:

  • Choose save this file to disc
  • Click OK
  • Click the drop down selection and select My Documents and the folder you want to save it too
  • Click OK
  • Make a mental note of the file name to locate it later

Your file with then be stored where you saved it, so to find it go into My Documents and the folder you put it in, then select the file and double click it to open it.
